Routine Exams
Our routine exams are an essential part of maintaining your pet’s optimal health. By bringing your dog, cat, or rabbit in regularly, you give our veterinarians the opportunity to monitor your pet’s overall health and detect diseases in the early stages when they can be more effectively treated.
During these exams, we employ a comprehensive approach to ensure your pet is in top shape. Our routine exams include:

- • Weighing your pet to track their growth and assess body condition
- • Checking your pet’s stance and gait for any signs of lameness or discomfort
- • Examining your pet’s feet and nails for damage or signs of underlying health concerns
- • Listening to your pet’s heart and lungs to assess their cardiovascular health
- • Conducting a thorough examination of your pet’s skin for issues such as dryness, parasites, or unusual lumps
- • Inspecting the overall condition of your pet’s coat, including looking for signs of inflammation or infection
- • Examining your pet’s eyes for redness, cloudiness, eyelid issues, excessive tearing, or discharge
- • Checking your pet’s ears for signs of bacterial infection, ear mites, wax build-up, or polyps
- • Assessing your pet’s dental health and looking for signs of periodontal disease, damage, or decay
- • Palpating your pet’s body to detect any signs of illness, swelling, or evidence of lameness
- • Addressing any questions or concerns you may have regarding your pet’s health and well-being

This practice was recommended to me after I had a terrible experience at another vets with my 4 month old rescue kitten where the vet was actually scared of her. I visited Rackheath vets today for her first vaccination and wow what a difference. I cannot praise them enough from the receptionists to the vet, they made me and my cat feel welcome and were so friendly. The vet gave her a full health check and her jab with no problems, she was confident and made my cat feel calm (and me!) I actually can't wait for her next appointment. Thank you for the best experience e er![]()

From walking in we found it was a very welcoming experience. The care shown towards our pet was brilliant and reassurance towards us was second to none. This is an addition to my original review some months later. Sadly I had to have my cat (Mia Mouse but just Mouse to me) put to sleep. What a wonderful team they are at this vets. I was so upset I just dissolved but the care and understanding was second to none. The support given to me is beyond words. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Should be 10 stars!![]()

By far the best veterinary practice I have ever used. Kind and compassionate vets and receptionists. Never feel rushed.
