What happens if I need help outside of opening hours?

We commonly recommend products like Bravecto, Bravecto Plus, and Milpro for flea and worm prevention. However, we can supply other products if required. Our veterinary team can provide personalised recommendations during your visit.
When should I vaccinate my pet?
Vaccinations are crucial for preventing various diseases in pets. The general guidelines are:
- Kittens: Can be vaccinated starting at 9 weeks of age.
- Puppies: Can be vaccinated starting at 8 weeks of age.

When should I get my pet neutered?

Do you express anal glands?
Yes, we provide anal gland expression services for pets experiencing discomfort or issues in this area. It’s a common procedure that can help prevent infections and other complications. Please contact us to schedule an appointment if you believe your pet requires this service.
Do you have grooming services?
Currently, we do not offer in-house grooming services. However, this is something we may have in the future. In the meantime, we can recommend reputable local groomers to assist with your pet’s grooming needs.
What should I do if I find an injured wild animal?
If you encounter an injured wild animal:
- Approach cautiously to avoid causing further stress or injury to the animal or yourself.
- Use gloves or a thick towel to gently place the animal in a secure box with ventilation.

What should I do if my animal has eaten something it shouldn't have?
If your pet ingests something potentially harmful call us immediately at 01603 955 056 for prompt advice.
- Keep the packaging or note the substance ingested, as this information is crucial for treatment.
- Observe for any signs of distress, vomiting, or unusual behavior.
What should I do if I find a stray animal or an animal without a collar?
If possible, please call us ahead of time to make us aware you are on your way. We will be able to scan them to see if they have been microchipped and hopefully be able to reunite them with their owner. Post onto social media and lost and found pages in case someone knows the animal and owner.
What should I do if my pet has fleas?
If your pet has fleas, it’s essential to address the problem promptly to prevent discomfort and further infestation.
- Schedule an appointment so we can assess your pet and recommend an effective flea treatment.
Fleas can lay eggs in your pet’s bedding, carpets, and furniture. Use a veterinary-approved household flea spray to treat these areas.
Keep your pet on a regular flea prevention program, such as monthly topical treatments or oral medications, to avoid future issues.
I'm buying a new kitten/puppy, what do I do next?
Welcoming a new kitten or puppy is exciting, and we’re here to help. Start with a health check, vaccinations at 8-9 weeks, and parasite prevention. We’ll also advise on microchipping, neutering, nutrition, and socialisation to support your pet’s growth and well-being.
You can make an appointment to discuss any queries you have and to gain advice on which may be the best breed for you.
What should I do if I can't get my pet to you?
Our team can offer guidance over the phone to assess the situation and determine the next steps. We can also provide home visits when necessary.
